Citeh - some logic

There has been a lot of bollocks talked about Citeh in the last few days

From what I've seen of Middle East investors they know the value of a $ bill but the DO take a long term view

They can see there is a lot of cash to be made here but they have to invest - a top club will require a squad of over 24 players and they'll have to spend sommat north of £200 million to get that but they'll do it over time - maybe 3-4 years. If Hughes keeps his place it'll be because he is realistic and achieves what he promises - better to be careful with his targets than to underperform against them

Think Sheik Mohammed here - sure he's spent a fortune on his stables but he's done it carefully over a long period and eventually he's been able to switch a lot of the operation back to Dubai

These guys aren't like the Glazers in for a fast buck - they take ages to make up their minds and they don't like changing things...................

It's all about local politics in the end, having said that when you look at the amounts being spent by them in other ways (projects of 3-4 billion are not uncommon) cash is likely to be their last consideration worry with Man City.

Top of everyone's agenda at the minute as well.

I think its a fairly reasoned opinion. Are you suggesting that we can only focus on one thing at once?

No, I was just being sarcastic.

Rob W 80% of your post result in me shaking my head and tutting loudly. You should stick to watching documentaries on falling whale numbers in Greenland. How the fuck have the Glazer'e been in it for a quick buck. They've been there nearly five years you idiot, and the club has went from strength to strength with a large amount of positive investment on and off the pitch.

I was thinking that. Perhaps he got the glazers mixed up with Hicks/Gillet.

Should put in a cheeky bid for that young fella Sturridge in Jan, shouldn't think he'll be getting many games for City

Probably a few players if their actions match their words.

Well I know hes getting a stupid wage, and I won't shed a tear for him, but hes just moved from chelsea for more first team football (presumably) and now he won't be getting it. Just always had a soft spot for the lad, god knows why.

He will be getting first team football though. Man City are at least 5 years behind Chelsea no matter how much money they have.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/7597822.stm

"On the last day, Chelsea made me a great proposal and I accepted it," he said, to which a reporter replied: "You mean Manchester right?". "Yeah, Manchester, sorry!" answered Robinho.

Robinho's transfer overshadowed news of the other big-money deal on Monday, that of Dimitar Berbatov's £31m switch from Tottenham to rivals Manchester United.

However, it was later reported that the deal - funded by new City owners Abu Dhabi United Group - was concluded without Robinho, 24, taking a medical or even fully understanding the personal terms of his contract.

Was talking about Robinho with a Chelsea mate of mine and I was saying he's a merc he wasn't leaving Real to play football at a higher level, he was leaving for the cash. I was told that he's not a merc, He was going to join Chelsea because of the football they play.

I guess this proves you truly can convince yourself of pretty much anything
