Deano 0
Newcastle United have confirmed the double signing of striker Xisco and midfielder Ignacio Gonzalez. Xisco has arrived at St James' Park from Deportivo La Coruna and Gonzalez has pitched up on Tyneside from Valencia. Spain Under 21 international Xisco has agreed a five-year contract at Newcastle to boost Kevin Keegan's attacking options. He impressed for Deportivo last season, having spent the previous campaign on loan at UC Vecindario in the second division. Uruguay international Gonzalez has moved to Newcastle just weeks after linking up with Valencia from Danubio. Gonzalez had signed a four-year contract with Valencia, but has been allowed to spend the season in the Premier League. Magpies boss Keegan had been hoping to add to his squad before the transfer window closed, with Xisco the second Deportivo player to join the club following the capture of Argentine defender Fabricio Coloccini.
