Come on boys I know its looking desperate for you but you are now in the realms of l(u)a l(u)a land.

How exactly is it looking desperate for us?

We have had a good day thus far.

You have only officially signed a fella called Nacho Ganzales. I am struggling to see the good day bit?

Xisco is at St.James park now. That's two and there will probably be one more.

Performing the thong song?

Bad news for Danny Boy

17.02Sky Sports News understands that Dimitar Berbatov is currently holding talks with Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, although reports in Spain claim Real Madrid are set to make a £36million bid.

and

17.04 Zenit St Petersburg have confirmed to Sky Sports News that Andrei Arshavin will not leave the club before Monday's transfer deadline.

I guess I'm not the only one who heard that this Abu Dabi United Group (sp) came trying to buy NUFC only to be told it wasn't for sale. Just think, we could have been offering shedloads of cash to buy tip top players today, instead of Citeh (best supported club in the history of football. Ever. FACT!). It's a funny old game.

That at least quashes the for sale rumours that the papers persistently link us with

well it squashes the rumours of that consortium buying our club. But I'm prepared to bet Ashley will be dogged by "Billionaire looking to sell" stories until he finds the investors he has mentioned previously/

1713: Fact time: Manchester United have been speaking to Dimitar Berbatov. Classic United, this. They'll agree terms, get him to sign a medical and then force Spurs to accept a lower bid for him as the clock ticks towards midnight. Allegedly.

Levy won't stand for it if there are really bigger offers.

You've got a lot to learn Danny lad....

He'll end up with a player who won't want to sign for the clubs who've offered more or bite the bullet and accept Man Utd's offer.

All depends on the player, NOT your chairman - if CL football is his immediate desire, then he'll not be signing for Man City, however much they offer...

Doubt the Spuds will have any choice in the matter, if Man United come in they'll take the money rather than lose out altogether. If Berbs doesn't move he'll sit around and lose value between now and January.

Berbatove has to agree to it though.

If Man Utd (say) offer £28m but Real and Man City offer £36m, if Berbatov doesn't want to go to either Real or Man City he can refuse leaving Spurs to either accept the £28m from Man Utd or take Berbatov back.

I'm not saying that this will happen but it isn't as cut and dried as highest bidder wins, Berbatov has to consent to the move also.

Zenit managing director Mixim Mitrofanov has told Sky Sports News that they would no longer considers any bids for Arshavin.

"We won't be doing a deal now, even if our valuation was matched," he said.

"If a deal was agreed, it would only be for a pre-contract for next year."

If he is going to Manchester United, one of two things will have happened.

Man Utd would have upped the bid to an acceptible level or the other bids weren't accepted.

All negotiations between the clubs currently going through via the FA (due to the breakdown in relations) so no one is going to be bullying anybody over this.
