Smooth Operator 10
Faldo has picked Ian Poulter and Paul Caey as his wildcards picks! Now these are 2 of the leading European players who've played most of the year in America thus not earning the points to qualify automatically but the Ryder Cup just wont be the same without Monty and Darren Clarke imo. Craig 6682
I agree with the inclusion of Paul Casey but Darren Clarke should have got the nod instead of Poulter IMO. Poulter cooked his goose when he decided not to participate in the last points scoring event got the Ryder Cup - shocking that he's still got a place. Monty has been fucking gash of late tbh. Great Ryder Cup history but that's not reason enough to put him in the team is it?

Great Ryder Cup history but that's not reason enough to put him in the team is it? Well I disagree and I'll tell you for why - He's been dog turd leading up to a few and has come good every time, I'm sure he has the best record in Ryder Cups for a European of late. Yes his form as of late has been poor but he comes alive in the Ryder Cup and leads the players. And he secretly hates Americans which always helps! Clarke has been on fire of late and still couldn't make it in, his partnership with Westwood was a lychpin of the last 2 wins and will be just as big a miss as Monty imo. Faldo likes to be a bit different though so we shoudn't be that surprised. My concern is with the no marks like Oliver Wilson who've scrapped in automatically. Craig 6682
Perhaps we should have done what the Yanks have done and increased the number of wildcards involved? I agree with the unknowns - Monty and Clarke would have been better options. I think it's their turn anyway - we've won 3 on the bounce. Not convinced by Faldo either - still think he believes too much in his own hype.
Guest Stevie
The Pods on fire, I backed him to win the PGA at 18/1. Shame theres no major for 8 month cos I think he could do what Woods did when he got four in a row, sadly Woods will be back by then. We'll piss the RC I reckon. Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
I know very little about golf, but is it all Faldo's fault or is it more that the media doesn't like him?
Happy Face 29
I know very little about golf, but is it all Faldo's fault or is it more that the media doesn't like him? Dropping Garcia and Westwood was the equivalent of Taylor dragging off Lineker in the Euro's...or Gullit dropping Shearer. Dropping Garcia and Westwood was the equivalent of Taylor dragging off Lineker in the Euro's...or Gullit dropping Shearer. Not sure it was really Garcia played three days of awful golf and looked shaky over every 3 footer. He got critisised for leaving Harrington and Westwood until the end of the singles but they played badly too and were actually two of Europe's weakest players. I'm no big lover of Faldo but I think he was vindicated in a huge way for picking Poulter and he just came up against an American team that played exceptionally well. Happy Face 29
Think it's Donald stood with the caddies giving the American exuberance the laid back contempt it deserves. The moral victory remains ours.
