Parky United will hijack the Milner deal with a late bid of £18m. Parky was not available for comment. Daily Shtar. Someone close to the club however confirmed that bids in the region of £12m are paltry for a worldbeater such as Milner.

As I keep saying, I can live with him leaving, £8M+ makes it laughably acceptable. He has a great character and a good professional but the facts remain. As a forward he doesnt score enough goals. As a winger he cant cross. He cant beat the first man on corners. But, we MUST replace him due to te size of the squad.

Keane for £20m is better value than Milner for £12m.

Maybe (or maybe not - we see this season I guess). But both are examples of the silliness of Premiership prices recently.

I think both are daft money but Keane might turn out to be good enough to do a job in the CL and he's already shown he's a very good PL player imo. He might not be good enough to take Liverpool to that next level, i.e. competing for the PL - I have my doubts tbf. But Milner is average or worse in every department bar his engine. £12m is unbelievable money for a player like that.

The permanent 'someone just nicked my wallet' look he has after he's lost the ball for the 10th time is worth £10m alone.

Depends whether you're comparing it to the likes of Gutierrez or Luque. Which is the gamble we're likely to have to take, shame about SWP though, I'd have thought we'd have been in a reasonable position for him for similar money.

I was comparing the Milner transfer with the Keane one. I thought that was obvious.

I see what you mean now. It's still unbelievable money for a very ordinary player. The fact we've been shafted in the past doesn't change that. What you see is what you get with Milner though which makes it even more the case. There's very little potential for improvement and he's very experienced. I don't think he's developed much in the time he's been here.

Aye, it'll be interesting to see what O'neill manages with him though (and where he plays him).

Still there is the what you see is what you get factor..... which, I guess, goes into issues with non-Premiership players.
