Colocinni and playing from the back.

Noticed it again last night that he is often given the ball to initiate the first phase out of defense.

Roams with a good reading of the game almost like a "back in the day" sweeper. His balance and poise are very good and as an added bonus can hit a long pass. I think we have finally found that dominant CD we have been looking for. :)

It's especially impressive as it's only his 3rd(?) game for us. I think signing the Argentine international squad is a fairly decent policy. :)

I thought he was no better than Anton Ferdinand?

You must have been prepared to commit suicide that day to think Ferdinand is better than Colo.

he looks good so far. very composed in posession and useful at staying on his feet and knicking the ball off people. not sure if he's the best in the air but signs so far are good

How's he the dominant centre-back we've been looking for btw? He's a sweeper who needs a dominant centre-back alongside him. Good player though. Very good player. If he turns out like Cacapa, I'll apologise.

It's not what was said.

I named 3 def and said Colo was the pick of them and that I wasn't that confident about any of them. At no point did I say Ferdy was better.

If he ends up as good as Taylor I'll be happy. :)

seems to be very good at intercepting, timing and using the ball simply, hasn't easily been beaten for pace or strength yet either.

looks like the player we need.

best cb at our club... by the proverbial country mile so far.

The thing that's worrying me as has been mentioned before on here is that he doesn't seem to win that much in the air.

Noticed it a few times against Davies on Saturday and especially for their goal last night. He was soundly beaten often.

Excellent on the ground though.

You wha'

I thought it was said one of his assets was that he was very good in the air - their goal was more the exception than the norm.

Certainly god knows how many times better than Cacapa in the air

Fair comment. I think he's better in the air than say Rozenhal was (just as fucking well) but, as I said, he could do with a big lad alongside him.

Soundly beaten for the goal. I thought he did well in the air on Tuesday. Possibly does well due to his reading of the game and his anticipation/timing. He may well get found out aginst John Carew or someone like that.
