Neville Neville Neville 0
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/s...bci/7631245.stm I quote Tim Krul's reaction on seeing our representative in this modern day institution Unbelievable!! Doing a reasonable job on the right, that's also 2 goals in 2 games he's manufactured. To be fair Parky, thats more ridiculous than all your UFO/conspiracy talk!! The number of goals Steven "Geordie Boy/Ace" Taylor has been responsible for (or should have been good enough to make it harder for the opposition) far outweighs chipping in with the odd goal/assist/pointing. He just isn't progressing, and has arguably got worse, with regular football.

Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Why is Steven Taylor a twat then? Seems a likeable enough lad to me Because he's a limited defender who seems to think he's great, prone to play-acting, his faux-organising pointing and shouting at people when more often than not he's out of position himself and his always-last-man-off-the-field-shirt-off-clapping-his-hands-above-his-head routine is rather tiresome. To be fair, I don't mind this. The rest annoys me, but the thing that drives me mad is that I thought he was going to be a good premiership centre-back (which we've not had a plethora of, tbh), but he seems to have got worse as him role within the team/media has become more prominent. I think we nearly always look a better team without him than with him these days, which was the opposite when he burst onto the scene. Bit sad that the youngsters who did so well against united (ramage, taylor, huntington, and edgar) have all failed to take the next step, and have if anything regressed as they should be maturing as defenders

At one point I was referring to him as Whiteus Bramble he was that much of a liability. You're right that we look a better team with Bassong playing centrehalf rather than him. Neville Neville Neville 0
Would be an interesting experiment to see Taylor and Bassong together for a few games, but its too risky where we are. Whilst colly is the better defender, his lack of pace and aerial ability means that think for some of the more long ball/physical teams, we might be better off with them. To be honest, Taylor isn't actually a gulf of class below the majority of the rest of the team, I think its more that he should be one of the better players in a relegation threatened team. Not sure we're really in a position to turn our nose up at him, and he's a decent squad player... just could have been so much more But his performance definitely was not Team of the Week level.
