LeazesMag 0
Cold War more than war but The Spy Who Came In From The Cold and The Ipcress File are quality. aye, Len Deighton. Quite detailed books, old hat now though but good at the time. Bloke called Ted Allbury wrote similar books to Deighton, but not quite so heavy and deep. Guest alex
Cold War more than war but The Spy Who Came In From The Cold and The Ipcress File are quality. aye, Len Deighton. Quite detailed books, old hat now though but good at the time. I've read the four 'Harry Palmer' books (he's only called that in the films, you never get his name in the books). Three of them were made into films (by different directors). The Ipcress File is the best movie but Funeral in Berlin is the best book. The latter is fantastic. On the subject of books, The Naked And The Dead by Norman Mailer (about the Pacific theatre in WWII) is absolute brilliant. It's an intimidating 800+ pages but it's worth the effort. I edited the last post too Alex. I read the Berlin trilogy a long time ago. Going back to movies, Michael Caine is one of the best actors going, I don't think I've watched anything that he hasnt' done well.
Guest alex
I don't know like. I like him but I think even he'd admit he's made a few dodgy films. Been is some classics as well though.

Never saw him or Britt Ekland though.

Always wondered what she says in Swedish at the end of his record "tonights the night" too. Dirty cow.
Jimbo 175
Pearl Harbour ! Seriously, the best for me, as The Fish said is Saving private Ryan, behind that I'd have: Das Boot Full Metal Jacket Platoon Thirteen Days Band of Brothers Ice cold in Alex
The Fish 11094
If we're counting Band of Brothers as a film, then yeah I'd definitely have that in my top
