Here we go

Ashley contacted Hall on a saturday and concluded the deal by tuesday

Did no due dilligence

The worst thing he subsequently found out was that the amount of money still owed on players

compared to what would be coming back in was 27 million

Also the club had taken up front payments from commercial deals and sponsorship

More to follow

He really enjoys standing with the fans, much prefers it to the directors box. Hired a minibus and drove to the FA cup game at Stoke

Takes his kids and their mates to the games

If he wanted to make a quick profit there are a million other things he'd definitely invest in before NUFC

The press have misreported him for 15-20 years, understands why they do it (to sell papers) but the majority of it is rubbish

Bit of a piss-take to use that against them, when he's taking up front payments on three years of gate receipts.

Depends what he uses the money for I suppose

Short/medium/long term plan is to follow the Arsenal blueprint, build for the future without neglecting the present

About Wise he says

'People make too much of little things,

his job is to go out and look at young talent all around the world.

People may not always realise or appreciate it, but hes constantly travelling for us all year round.

His task is to help bring new players to our attention and to oversee the academy and the staff producing a new cycle of players, some of whom we want to see come through to the first team in a few years down the line.

Now ask yourself, he cannot do that if he sitting at a desk at st james park every day can he?'

Happy to spend money on the right players

5th highest wage bill in the league

Wants people to invest in the club, not line his pockets

Looking long term for the club to break even

Dear Black and White,

I'd just like to congratulate Kenny Dalglish on the sale of David Ginola, Les Ferdinand and Tino Asprilla. It has become clear that skill and ability are not the way titles are won and the recent investments made in Alessandro Pistone, John Barnes, Ian Rush and Jon Dahl Tomasson only serve to whet my appetite for the silverware that will inevitably follow.

Fully expects some people to hunt through the article looking for negatives :(

No need for that, just cast the eye over the first eleven.

Easily a top half first eleven.

Top half? How depressing.

Fucking hell, what were you expecting?

I'm happy to be patient for a season or two.
