Meenzer 15742
We turned on just as that lass was dropping out and were absolutely convinced it was Radcliffe until they showed her from the front. Now that's confidence.

Ketsbaia 0
About how long does it take them to run the marathon? 2 and a half hours. This is the first time i've watch it and it actually dawned on me how fucking hard it must be. I'd have been knackered less than a kilometre in

Meenzer 15742
I reckon Mara Yamauchi could spring a surprise and grab a medal Oh well, not far off. And you can say what you like about sending crocks to the Olympics, but Radcliffe did bloody well, all things considered. And apparently Liz Yelling broke a rib when she fell halfway through, so ditto for her. Not exactly a classic night. Two thumbs up for the Romanian granny who won it though, only one who had the guts to try and make a race of it...

Sima 0
Phelps owes Lezak a hell of a lot after both last legs in the relays But an absolutely amazing achievement, 8 golds, 7 WRs.

Shame circumstances ruined two of their races. Bring on 2012. Another Brilliant day for the mighty GB
Gemmill 46195
Are there any plans to get good at athletics between now and 2012? I used to love watching it but it's shite when we've got zero world class athletes.

We've done really well in these games but the track and field is going to let the side down.

Yup, the second week is gonna be pretty fruitless I think, unless there are medal chances I'm forgetting in other sports?

Meenzer 15742
Quite fancy Andy Baddeley for a medal in the 1500m after the semis. Big Christine O. should get silver in the 400m too. Other than that, Idowu will probably screw up as usual, Sotherton was depressingly average and even the relays aren't looking too crash-hot now that Jamaica are the best country in the world at everything ever. Gemmill 46195
Was loving the Jamaicans getting a 1-2-3 and keeping the yanks out of the medals. The lass who won looks about 10 though.
Smooth Operator 10
Was loving the Jamaicans getting a 1-2-3 and keeping the yanks out of the medals. The lass who won looks about 10 though. Did you see the interview with her, she's got train-track braces on and has a thick Jamaican accent, couldn't understand a word she was saying and neither did Colon Jackson and Michael Johnson. Was mental, sounded a bit Geordie at times too.
