manc-mag 1
"....and it's good night from him!" RIP. Said already, but true comedy legend. FACT! Heard it on the radio earlier - first time in ages that I've heard the news of someone (in entertainment)'s death and genuinely let out a sigh. News said he was only 76. Thought he was older than that tbh?!

Chaser 1207
very sad to hear the news on the way home from work. Saw Ronnie Corbett pick up a gong for the 2 of them a few weeks back and noticed he wasnt there - thought then that there might be something up. An absolute comedy genius without a doubt

Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Not only a fantastic comic performer but also a very clever comedy writer. He will be sadly missed. I'm sure his work will still be getting laughs long after we've all gone. RIP
micktoon 0
A disaster, one of the best this country ever had. Last time I felt this gutted about one of the show buisness fraternity dying was when Eric Morcambe passed. Funny that I didn't find them particularly funny as a kid. Then a couple of weeks ago I watched a Morecambe and Wise Christmas special and I had to turn it off half way through as I was having difficulty breathing. Anyway R.I.P big man, you'll be missed. Papa Lazaru 0
As has been said RIP to a genuine comedy legend. He was one of the best ever comedy actors in sitcom or sketch based comedy and matched that with his comedy writing something most can't achieve. A good point was made in the tribute programme that Laurence Olivier said Ronnie was one of his favourite actors, not comedy actors. Its a disgrace the amount of snobbery about that denegrates comedy actors and never allows them the same credit as dramatic actors. The simple fact is the great comedy actors can do everything the dramatic actor does but also have comic timing and make you laugh.
