I hate the press so much. I hate them, I think people should be made accountable as to who their source is.

I don't think journalists should ever have to divulge their sources. They should just have an iota of integrity about what they print and do a bit of fact checking before going ahead with a story.

Of course, if the company had been approached for confirmation or denial prior to printing, they wouldn't have had a few pages filled. Much better to go to print early and eat some jellied eels, the fat pigs.

They should be forced to watch All The Presidents Men, Good Night and Good Luck, and series 5 of The Wire on a loop until they understand what the word journalist even means.

In these scenarios no party is going to admit to anything, least of all the selling party as it weakens their position in future negotiations.

But the alleged buyers have admitted it's all news to them.

Boggles me like. Two stories in todays sun. Same day, same newspaper:

NEWCASTLE owner Mike Ashley has got one week to decide on his £260million Indian takeaway.

Indian billionaire Anil Ambani, the sixth richest man in the world, wants to buy the Toon and has told Ashley to give him a firm answer by next Monday.

and

INDIAN billionaire Anil Ambani has denied he is on the brink of buying Newcastle.

The sixth richest man in the world was understood to have given Toon owner Mike Ashley a one-week deadline to accept a £260million offer.

But Ambani, who owns India's huge mobile operator Reliance Communications, insists he is not in talks with the Tyneside club.

A company statement read: “There are no such plans."

And the alleged sellers have always said it's not even a consideration.

...and the story doesn't have a single quote. Not even from one of those mysterious sources, let alone an on the record individual.

In these "scenarios", it's a complete fabrication.

I make him right. I tend to ignore all Spurs related stories to see if there is a quote.

Once theres a quote you look at the source (ignore if its an agent)

If it is someone reputable then a story can be believed.

Just out of interest, when and where has Ashley said he wants out? More bollocks from the red tops, more disruption we don't need.

You have to admire how they keep trying. Is this the fourth time they've had Ashley selling up? You'd have thought they'd try digging up some sexual deviancy stuff or fraudulant activity, just to miux it up a bit.
