ohhh_yeah 2991
http://kineticnorth.com/BBCNews/?NewsGUID=...cc-0e80ebe0a269 Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola, in a press conference this morning, announced FIFA ruled in favour of Argentina. Lionel Messi will be allowed to play in the Beijing Olympic Games. FC Barcelona and German club Schalke of Germany had went to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to challenge FIFA's rule that players aged 23 or under must be released to play in the Beijing Games. Schalke didn’t want Rafinha to play for Brazil. Werder Bremen, which has lost Diego to the Brazil team, was also part of the CAS appeal. This news though turned out not to be the biggest news of the day though. President of FC Barcelona Joan Laporta then took control of the microphone from coach Pep Guardiola. He then went on to state that they had agreed to sell Lionel Messi to Newcastle United for a transfer fee of £35 million. “It’s like a dream come true and I am delighted,” Messi told the BBC. The fee would shatter the highest record fee here in England by £5 million. That sum would be the world’s fourth highest transfer fee in history. Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo, and Hernan Crespo are the three players that fetched their teams higher transfers. Andriy Shevchenko cost Chelsea £30 million from AC Milan back in 2006. At this point terms of the deal between Newcastle United and Lionel Messi is unknown. More to follow.

Flair 0
Newcastle acquire Fabricio Coloccini Argentine defender Fabricio Coloccini, who played for Deportivo La Coruña for the last three seasons, was transferred to Newcastle United FC in exchange for €11 million. Despite Deportivo La Coruña coach Miguel Angel Lotina wanted to keep Coloccini for the upcoming Spanish La Liga season, Argentine defender Fabricio Coloccini was transferred to Premier League's Newcastle United FC. The estimated worth of the transfer is €11 million plus a bonus for goals achieved. "The teams reached to an agremeent; the only thing missing is a couple of contractual details", Coloccini agent Marcelo Lombilla said to Argentine radio station La Red. Coloccini would arrive in London next Monday to sign the deal and pass the physicals. Meanwhile, Depor are thinking about Diego Colotto to take his place.
