You mean to suggest that not only have our secret intelligent services (the ones remember who are not adverse to leaving laptops on trains and 'losing' CDs containing confidential data) been able to keep this under wraps but that the ETs themselves have ensured that they've only integrated with such people?

Do me a favour...

Don't be daft Craig, they've also been in touch with Alabama Yokels

If George Bush knows about the aliens then why is he still a religious nutter?

Because he's a religious nutter.

But ironically less so than Blair (but Blair was much better at hiding it).

It's a load of bollocks... as is the ridiculous conspiracy theories about Ayrton Senna / Princess Diana / 9-11 but I know you disagree with me on some / all of those too...

The only one I think there is any credibile suggestion of a possible conspiracy is the JFK assassination but even that one I'm not convinced about.

What was the Senna one?

All sorts of weird and wonderful theories but nut-heads who refused to believe that Senna could 'make a mistake'.. Despite all the technical data which proved beyond doubt that the steering column was fully operational at the time it hit the wall, they'll have you believe it 'sheared off' as he was going through the apex of the bend..

There is a conspiracy about that weekend that has got some truth in it though. Under Italian law, if a competitor dies at a sporting event, the event has to be cancelled with immediate effect. Ratzenberger snapped his neck and suffered massive head injuries in his accident on the Saturday, never once regaining consciousness. It's considered that he died at the track but kept alive by artificial means until he got to hospital in order to save the event. For the San Marino Grand Prix to have been abandoned before race day had begun would have had massive financial implications so it was in the best interests of the organisers that the show went on.

Obviously if the event had have been cancelled, Senna would never have been racing on the Sunday and wouldn't have had his own fatal accident. Read into that what you like but Italian prosecutors preferred to push the blame to the Williams team by using pathetically inept evidence rather than throw the book at their own.

Yup, just the Pope, lifestyle gurus, dodgy dossiers and excessive corduroy (which is against the 5th tenet of Flying-Spaghetti-Monsterism).

My positions on the above have shifted around over the years. I haven't come to a conclusion about Diana, all I can say is that the circumstances of her death are suspiscious or she was just very, very unlucky.

9/11 - My final resting position is that it WASN'T AN INSIDE JOB or Govt conspiracy of some kind, I believe Bush and Co. were as shocked and surprised as we were. However imo at some points in the timeline there were Govt or quasi-Govt agencies who had wind of what was unfolding and for their own reasons did nothing about it or did very little. 9/11 was a point where many expansionist and adventurist plans were taken off the shelf and dusted down and put into action...It was the gateway for the world we live in now, this far more than anything is what encourages the conspiracy theorists..As it looked in the aftermath that all the people who gained could easily have been part of the crime.

However there is one caveat to this and that is the power struggle between the CIA and the NSA in the year or so following the tragedy. There have been inside the secret services for quite some time a kind of group of fixers with secret budgets etc..and for a long time they had in many instances been ironically kept in check by the CIA and another group, loosely grouped around Naval intelligence (it was their side of the Pentagon that was hit)...9/11 was the beginning of the taking down in the food chain the CIA and the more internationalist leaning naval intellience group.

JFK was taken out by insiders. No shadow of a doubt.

In the case of Diana.

If you get into a car with a drunk drug addict then let him drive at 80+mph into a solid concrete pillar AND don't wear a seat belt..... you'd be lucky to live (or you could just wear the seat belt and live.

Beside Prince Philip would have blurted it out by now, "that'd better be toad in the hole, or I'll do you like I did Diana" etc.

... Alan Shepard, holds the record for the longest ever moon walk, at nine hours and 17 minutes following their 1971 mission.

Kids today.

Wouldn't he have been on the moon buggy for a while? Assuming it just means time outside the lunar module. On the other hand maybe the lack of gravity made it possible, along with the extremely high fitness levels of the astronauts. Either way, Parky will suggest it's proof we never went there.

Wasn't 71 the one with some serious moon buggy rides and maybe playing golf too?

Shepard's the one who played golf on the moon iirc so that would add up. Not sure which mission it was. 17 (I take it you meant 17) was the last one, wasn't it?

As my mates and I were walking back from Paleo festival last friday, we could see an arc of shimmering light (as if they were naked flames) on the horizon.

No idea what they were, so we decided that they were something to do with aliens.
