Tom 14021
I think Arshavin has priced himself out of a move anywhere decent so may have to settle for Spurs! and if they want to pay £24m they can have him!
TheMoog 0
Is McGeady honestly worth that? And I thought we weren't letting anymore players go? I think the once again the Sun are talking b*llocks and show they have no idea what's going on at the Toon. However, IF we were to lose Zog I'd rather he go outside the Prem. And it looks like the Guardian's posting non-stories again - I'm sure half of our squad have mentioned about strengthening... it not really obvious at all is it? Chumps. TheMoog 0
1. why would we let a player go to bring one in when our squads so small2. keegan only came out the other day praising charlies workrate in training etcetc 3. He's just signed a new 4 and a half year deal (McGeady)... 4. charlie and 5m for an spl player.. be serious Exactly, it's a pointless story, obviously made-up by some useless, un-talented, lazy journo looking to add to any unsettlement at our club, particularly for players like Zog. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the journo in question was a Spud or Arsewipe fan trying unsettle things to help his club get their grubby mitts on our boy, poxy Laaaandan media scum... but that's just me being paranoid Edited July 23, 2008 by Armchair Pundit

I really don't understand why people are saying this, how does Arshavin decide what fee Zenit will accept? Well it's the way he has been going on about it & obviously the agent will take a cut of any transfer fee. Zenit received a £12m bid from Barcelona and told them to double it, add this to his Agents ramblings (I will only sign for a CL club etc etc) and he appears to have dug himself a hole. Especially if he ends up playing for Spurs
Tom 14021
We should have signed the bastard in January, then again that might have kept Fat Sam in a job
ewerk 31596
Aye but it's Zenit who have turned down Barca's bid. Gareth Barry has said he wants a move to a CL team yet no one has been blaming him for pricing himself out of a move. I just don't understand why everyone has gone from wanting him here to suddenly having a go at him.
Tom 14021
I still want him here, but not for the money being talked about. I would say between the player, agent and Zenit there has been a collective greed and that's screwed him up. I thought it was his boyhood dream to play for Barcelona? ewerk 31596
It may have been his boyhood dream to play for Barca but if they don't think he's worth the money then what can he do? It's a credit to him that he hasn't came out and demanded a move, he's been very respectful to Zenit.

Guest alex
Well yeah, if he really wanted to play for Barcelona he could organize a cut price move I'm sure. The only way he could do that is by behaving unprofessionally and virtually forcing Zenit to sell him at a lower price. You get the feeling the geezers running these big Russian clubs probably aren't the sort you'd fuck about though.

You reckon Zenit are going to halve their asking price because he asks them to?

You reckon Zenit are going to halve their asking price because he asks them to? I wasn't aware they had an asking price. In January they would have probably taken the £12, or even before the Euro's. If he said he really didn't want to stay than surely the asking price would fall?
Douggy B 0
The figure being banded about is €23 about £18m. So it is a 6m uplift on pre euros value, still alot though. Still its not my money, I hope we can pull this off.

(edit. well national team he plays for) I back shay because he's top class could be worse i could be backing someone who's been at best #2 at a club for 10years and never even made it on for his country (and considering the state of englands keepers thats some going) Retarded? *Bang* oh you got me there. As much as one man can love another man without exchanging body fluids, is the love I have for Sahy Given as a Newcastle player but if you can't see that he's shot you really need to have a word with yourself. As for Arshavin well forgetting the bluntest tool in the shed that is Danny (http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=491220), Zenit don't need to see him, it's not as if they're in need of rubbles and they know if someone really wants him they are going to have to pay well over his worth to get him. Maybe big Mike's best mate can negotiate the deal as well? Or maybe it's a big Russian Jewish Nazi conspiracy? If spuds can get him for 12, then Barca will have him for 10.
