Without a doubt the most cringeworthy interview I have seen in my life.

Jesus Christ, what must he have been thinking when he got off the line with that moron? He'd probably turn round and get back on the plane :jesuswept::D

Huckerby comes across alright like. I think he was genuinely embarrassed at the term 'legend'. So he should be :jesuswept:

agreed, i bet he was thinking 'does this guy know anything at all about me!!!'

Are you sure that isn't a piss take?

''Norfolk team /North east england''

So much of it is hilarious :jesuswept:

I dunno it's hard to comedically caricature North American sports commentary, in much the same way as it's hard to get colder than 0 K. :D

strikes me as entirely baffled by the whole hypemachine that is American sports, but a genuinely nice guy. Hope he does well over there.

Huckerby trains with Lowestoft Town

19 November 2008

Darren Huckerby will be put through his paces tomorrow when he begins his off-season training - with Lowestoft Town.

The former Canaries winger is back in the UK for around four months before returning to San Jose Earthquakes in the MLS next year.

He is unable to train with the current Norwich City squad, but found the gates of Crown Meadow wide open - and with some familiar faces waiting for him. His former City team-mate, defender Craig Fleming, helps coach the Ridgeons Premier Division leaders, while Dave Carolan, the former City sports scientist who now works with Colchester United, will also be putting the players through their paces.

Those players include former Norwich midfielder Cedric Anselin and ex-City reserve team player Damian Hilton, who has signed for the Blues after quitting as Wroxham manager.

“They're a good bunch of lads who work hard and Hucks will benefit from a run-out with them,” said Fleming.

“Dave will start off with some warm-up stuff and then I'll get stuck into them - it'll be nice to come up against Hucks again.”

Huckerby won't be playing competitive football during the American off-season, with Glenn Roeder having recently dismissed any idea of setting up a loan deal, similar to the one which has seen David Beckham sign for AC Milan.

Training begins at 7pm, with spectators welcome.
