Love the idea of St. Pauli. Have a good one comrade.

Gracias remita la revolución. :D

"The club has also been active in terms of charity and in 2005 the club, the team and the fans initiated the viva con agua de sankt pauli campaign which collects money for water dispensers for schools in Cuba."

Great atmosphere including salsa dancing by the local club at half time. :D

Bought a Cuba shirt off one of the players milling around the team bus just after the arrived (they need the foreign exchange). :D

Cuba getting hammered 7-0 was a bit weird, as watching half their side not bothering to come back for defensive set pieces.

Their best player the No.3 (captain) seemed to play a midfield holding role/cum fill in def/cum fill in attacker- initiator of best moves. Best player on the park by a mile. Better than anything we have in midfield. :jesuswept:

Try and upload some pics later.

I saw the Cuban national team play earlier this year for a CONCACAF olympic (or maybe WC) qualifier game. I had tickets for the last day of games and by that time half of the Cuban team had defected. :D The Cuban immigrants that were there were yelling at the bench offering rides if the remaining players wanted to leave as well. :D

Being of Cuban decent, I probably would have driven a few back to miami as well! :jesuswept:

I was wondering why they had security barriers round the team coach. :jesuswept:

My mates girlfriend is Cuban and she bartered a deal for a couple of tops, they seemed really pleased with the look of the Euro notes. :D

Seemed like a nice bunch of lads. Don't really think they were trying.

If the Cubans ever come back your way to play, you can deal in cigarettes instead of money. During the 96 Olympics I had volunteered at the baseball venue and for a couple of packs of camels I got a hat and a ball signed by the team!

Was the number three you were referring to have long hair? If so he was quality at the game I went to and even had a go at some of the fans from Ecuador... :jesuswept:

They had a long haired forward who was good as well. The No.3 is the captain, statuesque, typical Cuban looking. They were also selling Cohiba's for a Euro 100 a box. Silly really you can get Cohiba anywhere. If they had some proper cigars I would have bought some.

We should get in there and sign up a couple of Cubans....How much could they cost? :D

One nice touch was the Sankt Pauli ultras singing for Cuba once they had gone 5-0 down. Heart warming. :D
