You've got to love how the papers are so obsessed with us, even when they can't get any information out of the club itself. It'd be nice if Ashley turned round and sued them for printing false stories, just to get at them even more.

Just remember, we aren't a big club.....

Christ almighty! They just dive in feet first, don't they? Never mind if it's true or anything.

Didn't they have a Joey Barton 'Sacked!' front page on monday?

Thats absolute bollocks. Firstly understand that everything has a price. While Ashley might not be selling the club, of course if the right offer came in he would consider it. He paid around £250M or whatever for the club including paying off debts so this would be a hell of a deal for him. However, as I understand it was way over what the US firm wanted to pay for it. So, they are interested and offer £320M or whatever it was, Ashley says no £420M and its yours and they say no?

Something out of nothing by the sun.

You have to wonder what the point is.

Plus half the footballing world are quite happy to take a story as gospel when it's not about them...

"And both sides were forced to sign gagging orders, banning them from ever disclosing details of the talks."

Top Journalism. Basically saying 'we don't have any quotes and we aren't getting any'' B)

Ashers is hardly likely to confirm it is he?

Especially if it isn't true.

Not sure any of us can say that for certain...Can we?

I would go further than that.

certainly would be good business for ashley if true, making over 200 million in a year for not actually doing that much!

Exactly.

You have to ask yourself it it was totally made up why they didn't bother to make the price more realistic. ie £300m

Erm, let's have a think...why would The Sun sensationalise something they probably made up? No, you're probably right.

Just saying I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand if you take a look at Ashley's business history.

Well, given none of us know how true it is, that's fair enough. But I don't see how the figure the Sun is quoting makes it any more believable than anything else they claim to have the inside track on about us. You seemed to be saying the figure back up there claims somewhat though.

Does anybody think this is a simple retort to the fact that nobody had a clue about the Jonas transfer?

Just a thought like B)
