Guest alex
United's new winger won’t be another Luque Jul 3 2008 by Luke Edwards, The Journal United have not had much luck when it comes to signing players from La Liga, with £9m flop Albert Luque the last player to swap the Spanish sun for Tyneside three years ago, while injury-prone centre-back Marcelino was the last player the Magpies signed from Real Mallorca back in 1999.” It's an encouraging article but fucking hell what is wrong with football journalists, don't they know the subject they are writing about? Don't their editors check the facts? Enrique you clueless twats is the last player to swap the Spanish sun for Tyneside. Enrique! And guess what, he looks like being a success but then maybe that doesn't quite fit with the nature of your article. If they'd remembered him they'd have marked him down as a flop anyway. You've got to know the level of your market. But I've kept in mind that "porn tax + new meaning for wank bank = " don't worry. "It's over your heads etc." manc-fop(lite) isn't, but flop ([alex] or FLOP. [/alex] ) could well be for him to the same end. But like I said though this was inevitable as it was bound to the usual suspects, descend in pedantism and then something like this would develop. Is there anything else you need explained? Like I said know your market and KISS.

Barney 0
Tim "Awesome" Vickery on Spidey : Can you offer any insight into the strengths of Jonas Gutierrez? I think a few Newcastle fans are wondering what they've got? Keegan is enthusiastic but then he could be enthusiastic about anything! Many reports say he is a right-sided midfielder but he seems to play more on the left and cut in. What's he like?Chris Falconer He was showcased in the recent 0-0 draw between Brazil and Argentina, who brought him in specifically for this game. In recent matches between the two Brazil have got at Argentina left back Gabriel Heinze - so Gutierrez came in to play in front of him, work up and down the flank and take care of Brazil right back Maicon. His presence was one of the reasons the game was something of a stalemate. He's not a tricky winger, the type who can beat three men in five metres, because his stride is too long for that. He's tall, powerful, has terrific engine and is naturally right-footed, but more often he plays on the left. Only just 25, with three good seasons at Mallorca behind him, he's the type of player whose physical dynamism is more suited to the game in Europe rather than in Argentina, where he played for Velez Sarsfield. Unlikely to be a star, likely to put in solid service.
