Leicester set to confirm Pearson

Nigel Pearson is expected to be named as the new manager of Leicester City at a news conference on Friday.

The Foxes have been without a manager since Ian Holloway left by mutual consent at the end of last season.

Pearson recently split with Southampton after they only avoided relegation from the Championship on the final day of the season, sending Leicester down.

The former Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday captain, 44, is a former assistant manager of Newcastle.

Dutch side name McClaren as boss

Former England manager Steve McClaren has agreed a two-year deal to manager Dutch side FC Twente.

"I'm delighted to be back in club management and looking forward to meeting staff and players," McClaren told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"I'm looking forward to the challenge of playing in the Dutch league and the Champions League qualifiers."

The chairman of FC Twente has previously admitted that some fans of the club are against the appointment.

"Ninety per cent of fans think why him? But he is used to working with top players," said Joop Munsterman.

Let the good times roll

I would put a tenner on him not starting the next season.

All depends on Twente's expectations probably

Well they are in the Champions league this year and I doubt McClown will repeat that feat.

Used to be Twenty Enchede in my day. Or am I thinking of a different team???

EDIT: McClaren's autobiography will be one hell of a read when he writes it. Second to Jim Smith (the tea chucker), Ferguson (the hair dryer) and Swen. Manager himself at smogville and then England. With all that behind him he must have some stories to tell - assuming he's got the balls to tell the truth, that is!!!
