Guest BigThompers
Do you understand that in engineering things are made with tolerances? Also how's your torque-steer? I don't get any. Do you understand that in phase kits, each phase not only increases power, but also any components that might suffer from the power increase. New spark plugs and an air filter? What about the camshaft, cylinder head, pistons, turbo, intercooler, clutch, gearbox etc? If two components are made to exactly the same specification, but during their working life one has 30% more force exerted on it, which would you expect to break first? I also find it difficult to believe you don't get monstrous torque-steer. Every performance Astra from the original GTE has suffered with it and you could count on the fingers of one hand the number of front-wheel drive hatchbacks that handle 200bhp+ properly. It's not a hatchback though. What about the camshaft, cylinder head, pistons, turbo, intercooler, clutch, gearbox etc? What about them? All the remap does is effect the points at which the turbo boosts. The intercooler is a phase 2 upgrade, as the standard one can obviously handle phase 1 power. The turbo is another thing replaced at a higher phase. Of course if you think that the other components aren't capable of handling the power increase, perhaps you should email the tuning specialists at regal, explain to them your qualifications and give them some advice with their engine component upgrades Edited June 22, 2008 by BigThompers

Well I regularly drive my Dad's Evo fq300 so I'm already fairly clued up. I don't think nor have I claimed that my car is the most superest around but for my age and what I can insure it's probably the best I could have done.
