Anyone with a private number plate?

Astra's are canny middle of the road( no pun intended) cars. Nowt special and pretty reliable, owned one once myself an 02 1.8 club. However if i was to see an Astra with a private reg my first reaction would be, bellend.

Pathetic statement. It's like saying I once had a Vauxhall Carlton and stereotyping the Lotus Carlton and putting it into the same category. Moronic.

You kind of miss the point. The fact that it's an astra, yes I'm totally aware that you can get some damn quick ones. The VXR springs to mind, very nice looking and goes like shit of a shiny. However if I was to see someone driving a VXR with a private reg I would STILL think bellend.

His statement about the Lotus Carton doesn't even have any substance seeing as Vauhall didn't build the LC...

As for driving at the speeds you're suggesting Thompers and suggesting there's "nothing wrong with it and it's safe", I really hope you suffer a blow-out. You'll soon change your mind....... if you survived it.

No, Vauxhall did build the Lotus Calton, Lotus modified it. Just like Bertoné did with the Astra to make the coupé...

Proving beyond all doubt that you know fuck all about cars... Vauxhall built the Vauxhall Carlton and Lotus built the Lotus Carlton in the same way that they, rather than Ford built the Lotus Cortina and they, instead of Talbot built the Lotus Sunbeam.

How you can claim you're clued up on cars and suggest Bertoné are on a par with Lotus is laughable. Bertoné like Pinafarina, etc are stylists who specialise in styling the physical appearance of a vehicle. Lotus are engineers who have take a basic chassis and completely built their own car from it.

You'll be telling me that an Escort Cosworth was created from a bog standard Escort next... :icon_lol:

The Lotus Carlton is a bored out GSi with two turbos stuck on. the rest is cosmetic. Fool.

I'm sure you know about them than my Dad though, despite him having previously owning two of them :icon_lol:

I can't believe you've just made that claim... :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :huh::o

you're proving you're a fucking ignoramous with each new post :puke:

Ps, leave the lad be, youre all as bad as him for arguing about fuck all! I bet most of you spent more on your pc than he spent on his number plate. Bet he gets more longevity out of his plate than you do your pc¬!

The PC, for about 3 years til a better one comes out. He can spend his money on whatever he wants. The whole thread was about asking a simple question then he just got abused. Give it a rest, 12 pages about a fucking number plate man!¬

I have private number plates on my fleet of PCs.

That's not the main issue though, the bugger is getting the steering sorted out.

On a sidenote, my car failed its MOT today because the lettering wasnt tall enough on my plate. Easily rectified as I have the original plate and hel pass it tomorrow but it looks very similar to a normal number plate. I wonder how all the plates I see on the road with fancy lettering pass their MOTs. Or maybe the mechanic I took it to was just a cnut!

They say it takes one to know one :icon_lol:

Don't worry about it man. It's the reason somewhere like NO has hundreds of regular posters and this place has about 4! :icon_lol:

Not sure why you're singing their praises, they all think you a tool on there as well.

Surely that many people can't be wrong, can they?

True enough. Just had this vision of Thompers cruising around in his sooped up Astra with Kid Rock blasting. :icon_lol:

I'd rather be doing that than be at home tucking those hideous monstrosities into bed.
