Changing the default font on Word

I've got Word 2000 and the default font is Times New Roman.

 

I want it to be Arial, but every time I change it, it has changed back next time I use it.

 

So how do you change the default?

1. you go to your tool bar > format > font.

2. Then once the font text box opens on the font tab > arial.

3. Then press the default button, bottom left on the font window.
