Craig 6700
He loves his tv work the big fucking tart. Would rather do that and spend his spare days on the golf course with Hansen than be a manager! Considering the shit a lot of the managers get, can you blame him? I doubt we'll ever see him in management tbh. Sure he's doing his badges but I think that's something he's doing in his spare time more as option to be able to chose to get into management rather than it being the path he wants to take. At the moment, media work seems more suited to him.

snakehips 0
I'm surprised at people believing Shearer saying that the timing was wrong i.e. that he doesn't want the Blackburn job due to his current media commitments. The way I see it is that he's not interested in Blackburn Rovers and was just using the tv work as an excuse. Would he say the same if Chelsea were in for him? Not a chance, he'd be in London before you could say 'Frankie Lampard is a fat twat'. Would he say the same if NUFC were in for him ? Hmmmm, who knows

Craig 6700
Agreed. He turned down Southampton earlier this year citing those reasons - what difference would a couple of months have made?
Fop 1
He really should just come out and say "I'll not take a management job until the TV work dries up/I reach 40/whatever", he'll certainly be linked with Newcastle every single time the managerial role comes up for the foreseeable future. Fat Sam's chances just got a lot better though I guess.

Tom 14013
Paul Ince is set to named as the new manager of Blackburn Rovers, according to BBC Radio 5 Live. The MK Dons boss is Rovers' number one target following Mark Hughes' departure, despite Sam Allardyce being interviewed for the role. Former England and Middlesbrough manager Steve McClaren has also been linked with a move to Ewood Park. Rovers chairman John Williams has stated that he expects an announcement to be made by the end of this week.

snakehips 0
I think I heard on the radio this morning that the LMA wouldn't stand in Ince's way if he got the Rovers' job. EDIT: in respect of him not having his pro licence, or whatever it is he's lacking. Edited June 19, 2008 by snakehips

Yeah, they went on a massive whinge, cried, sulked and moaned and then found out nobody gives a fuck what they think and the prem allowed both to manage anyway! So either they're being massively inconsistent for soem reason and this time arent kicking up a fuss, or they've finall relaised they have no power at all and have given up, so don't see it worth challenging Ince if he gets the job!
