Emre made 46 league starts during his three-year stint on Tyneside, but was unable to consistently display his undoubted talents in the Premier League.

That tells you just how much he won't be missed...

Crikey, I didn't realise it was so little. That's almost Marcelino level. I wonder how many of those 46 games were under KK ?

£8M according to the BBC

Got to be Euro's surely?!!

If it is £8m that will be mental.

Isn't that nearly £8m nowadays anyway.

Be about £5.8m.

It actually annoys me more to see a good footballer fail to live up to his potential than to see a limited player make a good living. The injuries didn't help but we should have got so much more from him.

Still a Saint for the free kick though.

I always liked Emre. Not the best player and was a bit lazy but he had the right attitude and cared a lot about the Toon. I say good luck to him and I'll never forget the free kick he scored against the scum. Ahh memories.

It was more the 'good attitude' thing that got me. What?

Because acting like a petulant little twat when on the pitch is good, no?

He hasn't delivered and never will with any consistency glad he's gone.

Duff next ideally.

Smith next, then Duff. Ideally

I dunno it's always possible a bit of Keegan pixie dust might work some magic on Smith (unlikely admittedly), but I think for Duff it is now definitely a case of needing to clone him a new body for him to be much use.
