Tom_NUFC 0
I saw that article last night. I don't think there's any question in the pronounciation, it's 'St Jameses'. I've always spelt it the way it's spelt outside SJP - St James' Park, and have always believed that in that situation, if the word ends in an s it is acceptable to either leave the second s out after the apostrophe or to put the second s in anyway. Therefore both St James' Park and St James's Park would be grammatically acceptable.

Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Doug Moscrop! Haven't see him on the box for years. He hadn't changed either. He should have given us a Moscrop's Moneyspinner whilst he was on.
Craig 6682
It should be St James`s Park to be grammatically correct. Nah, I definitely think there should be an apostrophe in there somewhere. Why does it? Apostophes denote ownership, so does that mean St James owns the park. Looking at it another way, is it The Emirates Stadium or The Emirates' Stadium? I think Meenzer's point has completely wooshed you there Sammy.... (or should that be Meenzer`s point??)

Ayatollah Hermione 13869
All I know is that me dad gets angry whenever Jamie Redknapp says "St James's" but he's probably just angry that Jamie Redknapp is actually allowed on the telly.
snakehips 0
There is an apostrophe after the S. The apostrophe negates the need for the second S. Therefore, if there is an apostrophe after an S the correct pronunciation is s's i.e. St James's Park. St James Street does not have an apostrophe so it is just pronounced James. Same goes for St James Terrace etc.
Taylor27 0
James' I should know. Incidentally, Newcastle United won the right to having the apostrophe in the right place by winning a friendly before the war.
