Craig 6703
I'm presuming you're using an evaluation copy of the full product? Uninstall it and install the totally free version from http://free.grisoft.com/
Jimbo 175
if not use this: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
It's still going to be free, it's just that they're not doing updates for v7 any more. Simply download v8, install and stop fretting.
ewerk 31636
I noticed they've made the free version of AVG8 more difficult to find when you go to upgrade but if you have a look for it it's there.

Fop 1
I've just done my weekly update of v7.5 today ? 8 is quite a big improvement over 7.5 (but yes the cunning bastards have made the free version of 8 very hard to find), although whether it's better than Avast. Actually does anyone know a decent bit of anti-virus software that doesn't come loaded with all the memory resident stuff that tends to come as standard these days? i.e. one that just runs when you tell it too and doesn't have 3 processes sitting there all the time waiting for something to happen. I found this out yesterday. I was downloading it for an old pc I'm trying (unsuccessfully, so far) to resurrect.

Aye, you're reet there, lad Methinks it needs a new h.drive; now I have to decide whether to fork out for one (h.d) or bin the whole lot.
