pedro111 0
Out on the 7th Oct. Ive been playing the BETA Demo for a few days now and must say it is class!! IMO its what footie management sim fans have been waiting for. The matches can be played out in full 3d mode which is outstanding. The AI is spot on and it really does look like you are watching the match on the TV. The passing/tackling/heading etc are so realistic and there is a huge variety of goals which are scored (I havent seen the same one twice). Another major thing is tactics. Because you can literally see what is going on on the pitch you can alter your tactics accordingly. If you play down the middle but find they are playing with a sweeper or a midfielder just infront of the back four cutting out all your plays, you can change your tactics to exploit the space out wide (especially with Emre and Nobby on the Demo!) SJP is just a masterpiece on the game and the level of detail is huge! Another class thing was when I was playing Liverpool at Anfield and Emre was taking a corner at the anfield road end and the camera panned round him to show the flags with "Monkseaton Mags" and "Durham Mags on Tour" written on them. Don't know why EA bother, It'll do worse than CM5.
pedro111 0
Yeah, but the difference is this year EA have got it spot on. Its the match engine FM and CM can only dream of. Edited September 29, 2005 by pedro111
Guest Sima
No, it's the match engine SI know isn't ready yet. It's not really representative of the flow of the game. It is well documented why SI haven't went to 3D on their forums tbh. You think it is better than FM?
pedro111 0
The actual matches are better IMO, they really are great and it does flow really well, you will be pinned back at times as teams mount periods of pressure, you dont need to look at the player marks as you can see whos having a blinder and whos playing shite. Apart from this it has some other good features like being able to give team talks at half time where you can praise/critisize/motivate the team as a whole or players individually with the aim being to raise their confidence levels as high as possible for the second half. The stats in this game are great, there is system where by you can see everything you want to know about what happened in the last game like how far a player ran in the last game and in what areas. The interface is easy and efficient and the main news comes in the form of a Website. The media also have an opinion on you which is affected by what you say to them at the Pre/Post match press conferences connected with what happens on the pitch. For example if you say your gonna wipe the floor with the opposition but get stuffed, they quickly think your a barn pot and your standing in the game is somewhat deminished which affects your appeal to potential new players etc. There are a few tweaks to be made which Im sure will be corrected now for the realease on the 7th but from what I've played this is the first time in years I will be buying an EA Sports management game over the other two. Guest Sima
Looks like they have copied all of SI's ideas.
