LeazesMag 0
do you switch it off at the mains when not in use ? Do you leave them on standby ? Do you leave the PC on but turn the monitor and speakers etc off at the mains ? Do these things effect the lifespan of components, or does switching off the PC at the mains switch over to the internal battery ?
Jimbo 175
Mine is on nearly all the time, if it is off I don't shut off the mains, I only switch it off if I'm resetting after a glitch.
khay 10
Switch it off but leave it on at the mains. There is a guy at work who just holds the power putting down to shut-down, just to save himself 30 seconds.

I'd probably turn everything else off, but leave the power to the power supply on (turning the power on and off to it can reduce the lifetime of it quite a bit, and can even indirectly fuck your motherboard if you're unlucky). Those intellipanel extension sockets are handy to automate it.
