Howay 12496
Dwight Yorke has been asked to come out of international retirement to make a one-off farewell appearance against England on Sunday. (Daily Mirror) What's the point in this if it's true, I thought he was meant to be trying out new players in these friendlies but Capello just seems to be fannying about first picking that Peterborough keeper who isn't going to be international standard and now this. Besty 4
PETER Taylor – on a shortlist for a senior post at Newcastle United's Academy – has been linked with the Wycombe Wanderers job. Taylor, who quit Stevenage Borough at the end of the season, is reportedly being lined up as successor to Paul Lambert, who is leaving Adams Park after two years in charge. The 55-year-old had met Newcastle's executive director (football) Dennis Wise earlier this month to discuss a role developing young players at the club. But he is understood to be keen on taking another manager's job, and not an Academy role.

Happy Face 29
Be Careful What You Wish For 'Bentley In Hunt For A High Roller' reads the headline from The Guardian today. 'Blackburn Rovers will struggle to hold on to... David Bentley who has his sights on a Champions League team.' "Every player wants to reach the top of their game and I haven't done that yet," said the 23-year-old. "I want to play in big games at the top of the game."' All to be applauded. But wait, the article continues: 'Bentley's admirers include Tottenham and Newcastle.' Oh dear. -F365 Mediawatch
