It was harder to do anyways mainly as he caught it sweetly on the half volley and Sullivan wasn't as far off his line as the one Beckham done. Not taking anything away from it though.

Plenty have done it before, when the keeper's gone a wandering, didn't Alonso do it in the cup against Peterborough or someone last year? And then there's Rob Lee's wrongly disallowed effort...Beckham's against Wimbledon is far more impressive.

Our keeper scored an almost identical goal in our cup final this season. It had snowed all afternoon and every ball had stuck in the mud/snow. He launched it from his own box and it hit the only hard spot on the entire pitch and bounced straight over the keepers head.

 

Bastard took my nailed on goal of the season award with that!

I'm sure Batty did it for us?

He did it against Wimbledon (and Sullivan iirc) just after Beckham had done it but was from inside the opposition's half I think.

 

Same week as Beckham iirc, not one that Sullivan would look back on with too many fond memories.
