Howay 12496
Regardless of what happened in the lead up to the fight, he shouldn't have put himself in the situation to begin with. 10 pints and 6 bottles followed by a McDonalds? Get a grip man. I agree he shouldn't have put himself in the situation but football players are hardly the most intelligent members of society. Guest alex
Wouldn't be surprised mind if the amount of stuff he'd drank was exagerrated to allow them to argue he was had a drink problem (which he admitted) and that he was now having treatment etc. to help sort that out. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if he'd drank that much either.

I think he looks dreadful tbh. All that wonga and that's the best he can do?

Even if he only had two pints (or none at all), dining at McDonalds at 5.30am in the morning after a night out is totally unaccapteble for a professional football tbh. Andrew 4855
Will he still be getting £60k a week or whatever he is on while he is in the nick? who knows, some speculating that we put a clause in his contract when we signed him but no one here can be certain that's for sure I fucking hope not plus don't players not get paid the full whack over summer/if they don't play anyway? Guest Stevie
I've got a scouse solicitor mate who's just been on the phone there, good lad for a dipper. I know fuck all about the law really apart from our legal system is shite. Anyway, any sentence under two years gets halfed in terms of how long you're in custody. He got 6 months which means three, he's been inside two weeks and been on tag for four, which means he only has 6 weeks to serve, he'll be back training the second week of July. Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
I think I'm right in saying his nan (who has looked after him since he was a bairn) has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. If she dies whilst he's inside that could really tip him over the edge.

Lazarus 0
Im in 2 minds about this. He started pretty poor but ended the season playing well. I wanna see how he plays following a preseason (what he'll have of it) of keegan working his magic. however, it was one thing having dyer and bowyer assaulting each other on the pitch but to assault a random in public whilst pissed?? id have the clubs solicitors look at his contract very closely and get rid of him if i possible. A lot's been said today about keegans apparent effect on him off the pitch as well as on, apparently hasn't or has hardly drank at all since keegan arrived, doesn't like the person he is when drunk etc etc but if you go off his form for us he might be turning it round you can't just give up on the lad he's only 25 which I know for a footballer is seen as quite old today but in real world terms he's not beyond sorting out

Maybe if bubba gives him one too many he might realise life on the outside as a footballer is a better option than being the bitch of some life sentence serving cell mate. Ketsbaia 0
There was talk on the radio last night of us being able to sack him but being able to keep his registration, meaning that he'd either have to buy it out himself or any other club that wanted him would have to buy it, allowing us to recoup some of the cash. Isn't that what Chelsea tried to do with Mutu? I don't think that has been decided either way yet but would be an important test case.
Kid Dynamite 7166
Should be sacked. Its not like hes Zidane, wel manage. Why should we continue to make him a millionaire. He hasnt just cracked someone, hes behaved like an animal, straddling someone and punching them 20 times. CCTV proved it was unprovoked. The people on here should be ashamed for defending him, there is no excuse for his actions
