I tell you something, that "Greenalls Beers" patch is on the wrong shirt. That patch only ever appeared on the V-necked shirt (same as the Keegan shirt) in the first half of the 1986/87 season as shown here: (that's John Anderson BTW, T-Keith )

That shirt you've got the patch on was used in the 1987/88 season (they used the same shirt for 2 more years with a new crest - the current one). The sponsor patch for 87/88 was always simply "Greenalls" as shown here:

FWIW, that kit that Gazza is wearing is second only to the Grandad Collar one for my all-time favourite

Also, the club need to take a look at some of the historic images when it comes to commissioning the retro-shirts. Have a look at the one of Gazza above and then look at the same shirt on the retro shirt page on the online club shop. Where the fuck did they dream up those sleeve collars?

Why don't you use one of your other threads, then?

Your collection is impressive, but there's no need to show off.

now you're just fishing for something to be mad at him for

I get it from uncle of my friend.

i reckon it's a replica shirt with a patch bought seperately which has been sewn on. The replica shirts at time were always sold minus the sponsor's logo. First replica NUFC shirt to be sold with a sponsor's logo on it was the 'barcode' shirt in 1990.

I know you could buy the Greenalls Beers patches because my Mam, god rest her soul, got me one for christmas one year and I had it sewn onto my Newcastle keeper shirt from that era.

Anyone remember that shirt? more shoulder pads than Joan Collins IIRC - it suited the 1980s perfectly.

EDIT: Just found a photo of Gary Kelly in it:

Shoulder pads.

How man, they were invaluable when I was playing in goal for the school team and chucking myself around a muddy goalmouth that, when the weather was dry, resembled concrete...
