Guest Patrokles
Might not be true but apparently we've lodged a bid, though Galatasary are reluctant to accept it before Euro 2008.

Barney 0
Tuncay looks an excellent buy for Boro so far. Tugay has been very good at Blackburn too. Shame Emre is only interested in playing for his National team.

Scottish Mag 3
NEWCASTLE are set to beat Middlesbrough to the signing of Turkish winger Arda Turan as a replacement for Damien Duff. And there is every chance that Emre will also leave United — for Galatasaray — as a big-money move for Turan, pictured left, materialises. The likely arrival of Turan signals the end of Duff’s days at Newcastle, with the Irishman having already put his lavish Northumberland house up for sale after being told he is not part of United’s first-team plans. And while Duff contemplates interest from Portsmouth and former club Blackburn, Boro could console themselves by landing United’s James Milner. Following widespread talk in Turkey of a big-money Magpies move for Turan, his agent last night confirmed that the two-footed 21-year-old may be on the move. And while the same agent, Ahmet Bulut, insisted Emre, pictured right, is happy to stay at Newcastle, he has held talks with Galatasaray last week over their former midfielder. On Turan, who already boasts 16 international caps and is tipped to star at Euro 2008, Bulut said: “One club is talking to Galatasaray and asking them to name their price. “If Galatasaray’s request is met, the transfer can happen.” That club is understood to be Newcastle, although Boro have also made enquiries about Turan on the recommendation of their Turkish striker Tuncay. The Teessiders, as revealed by the Sunday Sun in March, are ready to pounce for Milner, who had little chance to impress Kevin Keegan before the end of the season because of injury. Meanwhile, Newcastle have also made contact with the agent of Mauro Zarate, the Argentine striker recently on loan at Birmingham.

Ketsbaia 0
i'd give duff another season to see if he can recapture his chelsea and blackburn form. He's barely even shown glimpses of it. Much better getting him off the wage bill and cutting our losses.

Guest Patrokles
It's only the Sunday Sun, but if it's true, then Turan and Zarate would be a decent start to the Summer! Edited May 18, 2008 by Patrokles

toontoasey 0
Aye get shot of Emre and Duff and bring some new blood in, theses are the sort of plyers we need at the club if we are to start challenging the top half of the table.
