What it did do was to show that properly trained crew with the right kit COULD bomb accurately, even at night, rather than laying waste to half Germany although most precision bombing was later done by Mosquitoes the Lancaster force was able to bomb bridges, tunnels and canals (and the Tirpitz) with remarkeable precision after the Dams raid And there is Lancaster still flying in Canada I believe Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
