Bristol City look like they're about to win their tie and with Hull 2-0 up after the first leg in theirs, it looks a bit like we're going to get two teams in the Premiership for the first time next season.

Is this a good thing? Is it better to have teams like Stoke coming up or would you prefer teams with a bit more history coming up?

Your looking at West Brom struggling but could pull through as they play some decent football...the other two you just can't see staying up no matter who they are. Could we have two derby-esque clubs next season?

How many of you gave Wigan or Reading a prayer when they came up? Yet both had brilliant debut seasons.

Rather than a club with the infrastructure and financial clout, i'm more looking for the dogged determination of a team of players who get together and fight for results - that's the romance of the game which over the years has been sadly lost in favour of all the technical shite.

(before anyone says anything, i know it had to happen...)

Didn't we have a thread last week saying we'd rather have the likes of Leeds, Forest, Sheff.Wed and Ipswich back in the top flight, rather than non-entities like Wigan, Reading etc?

When will the bookies have the prices up for Stoke and Bristol/Hull to come straight back down again? Odds-on surely.

As I'm sure Brock will tell you, Reading won't be a problem anymore. :icon_lol:

you can count on one hand the amount of clubs who've been promoted to the premiership and not struggled in their first 3 seasons though...

Doesn't matter who goes up, they're likely to struggle - might as well have a club that'll provide entertainment in doing so :icon_lol:

I do want to see Trundle in the Premier League, and I'm proud of Bristol City who are on the brink of two successive promotions. Following their relegation, they'd probably have a solid financial base and they could begin on their success and become a powerful Championship team.

that's actually the way to stay up now, be a yoyo team for a few years, dont spend to much each season and build up so money/team/support so that you can spend in one season and have a squad capable of doing it

I do miss the likes of Sheff Wed, Notts Forest and the like in the prem if only for nostalgic reasons.

I kind of get a little buzz for the teams that get into the prem that haven't been before. Then the fans' attitude winds me up and i want them to fuck off as quickly as possible.

I was under the impression that Stoke had history?

I can remember when Lee Chapman played for them. Just.

I remember a game at the old Victoria Ground had to be called off after a storm blew some of the roof on the main stand off. Must have been early 70's.

Just an example of the useless shite that clutters up my brain!

I went to that cup tie where Beardsley nearly scored a hat-trick but hit the post. Horrible ground back then though.
