ewerk 31596
Actually it is almost certainly another mistake by the .com boys. Says here that Man U get £78m and Derby get £50m less so obviously we have to be somewhere in between.
ewerk 31596
Although the Man U figure may include CL money, not sure.
Happy Face 29
Although the Man U figure may include CL money, not sure. Still wouldn't explain why we end up with 10M less than Derby
Craig 6702
Does Derby's amount include the £20m parachute payment? And anyway.. who's to say it's .com that have it wrong and not the SL?
ewerk 31596
£15.7m seems ridiculously low, I think I remember reading something about how even the bottom team would be guaranteed around £30m.
Greg 6
I think all teams get a certain amount of cash from TV revenue and then on top of that get an amount based on how many times they have been televised and I think the figure .com have is the figure based on TV appearances. Edit: If you read the SL article it explains that what I said is true. Edited May 12, 2008 by Greg
ewerk 31596
Aye the £9.2m is from TV appearances, it's the £6.48m in prize money that seems low.
Jimbo 175
SKY Sports News quoted £6.48m as prize money for the final league position on Sunday, I too was surprised how low it is, but it appears to be correct.
ewerk 31596
Maybe it's foreign TV money that makes up the rest of the money then?
Offshore Toon 0
Overall the TV money will be much more. I'd guess around £40m.

Man U got £78m for this season. Actually if you look at the total earnings this season it does show a Top 4 (actually a Top 2 then Arsenal and Liverpool) with a clear gap between 5th and down (~£61m Livm £42 Everton). We were on about £38m I think.
