Park Life 71
"Mike Ashley, the billionaire businessman and owner of Newcastle United Football Club, stunned gamblers at an exclusive casino by scooping £1.3 million on a single spin of the roulette wheel. Lady luck smiles on Mike Ashley, who bet on the number 17 The high-rolling gambler, ranked Britain’s 54th richest man, won the money through a series of bets totalling £480,000 centred around his lucky number, 17, at the Fifty London casino in Mayfair. It is believed the 45-year-old former owner of the Sports Direct chain left the table after just 15 minutes, almost a million pounds richer than when he walked in. According to the Mail on Sunday, the reclusive tycoon and passionate football fan saw the roulette ball slip into the number 17 slot, calmly looked up at the croupier and said: "That’ll do me, thanks very much," and walked off with his winnings to the sound of applause from other punters." Nice if you can get it.
