Outclassed. This is what happens when you play teams who aren't shite.

Considering we were playing the Premier League title challengers and Champions League finalists, losing 2 - 0 isn't such a disgrace considering this season.

Can't have any complaints about the second, lovely move.

Would love to see them pip Man Utd but no doubt Bruce will let his team roll over for his old gaffa.

To be fair it's not like Wigan have much chance of beating Man U one way or the other.

I'd also like to see Chelsea win so I'm not too put off by the result. Hopefully we can still beat Everton and end on a high note.

Im impressed with how dignified we were afterwards. Nice to see Keegan and Terry Mac embracing grant and the players swapping shirts.

That is how to lose a football match.

They are probably collecting the keys for the Mercedes from Abramovic as we speak......

Bit like Arsenal in the FA cup - gave them a game first half, outclassed in the second.

Didn't really learn anything I didn't know - we need a new midfield basically.

Just got home I wanted Chelsea to win the champs league over Man utd but after seeing their glory hunting non-entity chant stealing fans I cannot stomach it, shit fans total soulless club. Saw a nonce in a Chelsea top on the walk back to the car blatantly not from London calling him a wanker made me feel a little better about myself :D he sums up their support.

Btw did anyone else see perhaps the most pathetic banner I've ever seen? was something like "dave loves sandra + Chelsea" fucking hell. Steve Bennet is a terrible referee as well some of his decisions were pathetic, not booking Terry when he told Carvalho to fall back down to waste time when he was walking off was a discrace.

Would've been a second yellow I think. Not that that makes it any more excusable.

Anyone catch Keegan' post match interview?

"I'm wondering what I can do next season to bridge that gap and the answer is nothing, I don't have enough money, so I'll carry on with what I've got, The owner thinks we can challenge the top 4, and he's wrong."

The missed chances in the first half cost us, you have to take them against teams like Chelsea because once they get going like they did in the second half you might not get another sniff. That miss by Owen off Butt's chip summed it up - not the easiest of chances but players of his calibre ought to do better.

Just got back. Good first half performance but we didnt show in the second. Too many players second half have nothing performances. Duff, Smith etc. Taylor and Butt both had canny games.

Kudos to the bloke for putting a bit of Floyd on at half time B)

Worry post match comments from KK though :D

Was a bit odd. Bridge took someone of ours out, but nothing happened.... Smith got hacked quite a few times (he was also shit though but still) then Faye brushes Malouda's foot for their opener and gets booked, and whoever it was also got booked for pulling Essien's finger.

IMO thats means he has 50-75mil but he thinks we r that far behind top 4 we wil need 100+mil to get anywhere near them

Graham Courtney has just been on Talksport to clarify what Keegan said at the press conference away from the cameras and he said that Keegan was playing on the fact that he will only be here for 3 years, and the point he made was that 3 years is not long enough to bring Champions League football to Newcastle United, and to be fair, he's probably right.

This on Sky? In the BBC interview he makes the point but he's talking more about the strength of the top 4 rather than having a go at the chairman and owner.

Beeb interview here around 1min 30sec : http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/m...day/7384594.stm
