Anyone go last night? On that showing we wont be keeping any of our reserves at the end of their contracts, they were more than matched by a team of cloggers who were nearly just relegated from the northern conference.

They ended up scraping a win on penalties.

Good atmosphere last night though, right up until blyth scored anyway and all the 14 year olds fron newbiggin hall started to get a bit nasty. Taking their tops off and hoying bottles into the blyth supporters. Plebs

How do you know they were from Newbiggin Hall, did you ask them? They might've been Durham mackem toon fans like you for all you know. Understandable Tyneside negativity from you though.

"Cloggers" is the sort of description I'd expect to hear from someone who's never seen a game outside the Premier League.

The reserves are just basically the bairns these days, aren't they? They were under Allardyce anyway. Can't believe (well I can I suppose) some Toon 'fans' were trying to cause a bit of bother. Sad cunts.

I used to always enjoy watching the reserves in the NSC, strutting around like kings of the manor, then turning up a few years later to see the same faces out there for the non-league side.

As opposed to me whos seen probably five times as many arngrove, unibond and N.Conference games than premier league games?

The majority of unibond and n.conference teams are made up of players who failed at academys or lower league clubs, usually because they were too slow or not skillful enough.

The majority were under 18 tbh. Same lot that turn up for the carling cup 3rd round and pre season friendlies. All their experience of being a football fan has come from green street and football factory

Your comments simply make it sounds as though as though non-league sides are filled with players who have no natural ability and just kick people. Now if you think that's the case then fair enough, but with a pretty decent knowledge of the current Blyth squad, I'd completely disagree with your assessment.

I've seen enough half decent academy players drop off the radar entirely once they stop training full time to make me realise what a challenge it is to compete at a moderate level of the game (such as the CN) while at the same time holding down a full time job (I guess for those who also coach it's a little easier).

Well unfortunately our least cloggish like player, Robbie Dale, had an absolute shitter and should have been hauled off at half time
