luckyluke 2
Would be nice to have a cheeky cup run but I never expect us to do anything in the cup so it would all be a bonus to me.. Barnsely and Cardiff this season have shown that ANY team can have a chance of winning the cup. Yes but the universe NUFC are in would see the year we get the semis being drawn against Chelsea, with the winner getting either Man U or Arsenal. You should know this by now. Tsk tsk. This season was a freak, might be 20 years before one of the top 4 don't win it again (look at our recent finals, an in form Arsenal and a rampant Man U). I was just thinking it actually is 20 years since one of the 'usual suspects' (i.e. Liverpool, Everton, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Man Utd) didn't win it when Wimbledon won but even they it was the Champions v a team that came about 7th or 8th iirc. I can't remember it ever being like this year though. I wouldn't count Everton and Spurs as the 'usual suspects' recently. Historically, yes, but then so are we. The Coventry v Leeds match was a classic IIRC.

Clive Allen scored after about 5 minutes from a Waddle cross iirc. Gary Mabbutt own goal in extra time was COventry's winner too I think.
Craig 6702
Aye Mabbutt scored at both ends (gave Spurs a 2-1 lead on the stroke of half time).
Dr Gloom 22536
obviously there's still a fair chunk of the transfer window still to go but as things stand, i don't expect us to better last season's finish. unless danny guthrie comes into his own Edited July 17, 2008 by Dr Gloom

I think we'll be bottom after 3 games and Keegan will be sacked if he doesn't win the fourth.
Wavey Davey 0
Being honest if we deal with the coming season like we did with the last few games (tottenham, fulham, reading etc) we'll be OK because most of the league is slurry and can be matched. Squad is thin at the moment, admittedly but even squad players brought in can help a bit.

We're halfway through the transfer window and we've signed an Argentinian and a player who has potential (he looks as though he has based on his days at Bolton). I totally agree that we need more. Specifically more quality, but it's a bit early to write the season off just yet.

Wow, that make three signings of amazing quality
