If you were Michael Owen...

It depends on how much faith he has in us going forward, none of the top 4 are going to want him so it's either stick with us or join one of the other clubs who hope to be fighting for a UEFA Cup spot next year. Realistically I'd say it's a choice between us and City, can't see anyone else either attracting him or wanting him.

His driving motivation is his place in the England set-up and to become it`s all-time leading scorer. To do so he needs European football or a team who`s really gonna give the euro spots a chase next season. Otherwise he`ll go.

I think he needs Capello to stop playing one upfront if he wants a starting berth. It's as simple as that really because he's still one of the best English strikers without a doubt. And that's more to do with the dearth of talent than his recent run.

I think at the moment we are the best place for him.

I mean, europe or not i think he would rather stay here than go to a lot of places*

I honestly think the fans and ground will play a big part in it as well as the football, i mean at least we look flash.

*For whom it is possible to sign him/ who want him.

Yep, he'll certainly get ignored if he is scoring regularly in the league for a club not playing in Europe...

If his form continues do you not think that Man City, Everton even Pompy are likely to have a go?

We're a much bigger club than all three, with vastly superior potential, if I was Owen I'd laugh if the likes of those came in for me.

Utterly pathetic. You talk such shite. Did he ignore Stuart Downing? Did he ignore the Tottenham players, or even Beckham. We'll be back in Europe soon enough.

I think he will sign a new deal here, he is settled, loves the place, as does his family, Capello wont igonre him if he aint in europe as long as he is banging the goals in for the Toon, and if we get the right players there is a good chance we will get into europe next season.

I still dont think it's nailed on that he'll stay.

He'll be off like a shot at the first sign of a better offer, however I can't see a better offer coming his way this summer so he'll end up signing a nrew contract with us. :icon_lol:

I'd imagine Capello will have him back playing for England as soon as he comes to the conclusion he's fit and back in form (which seems to both be the case now) and these England new master tactics just don't win and goes back to something more like the usually England 4-4-2.

In fact in the role he's been currently playing he's probably more attractive than ever to the England set up in a way.
