Happy Face 29
Sam Allardyce could be set for a shock return to Bolton as reports claim he is planning a takeover bid with Freddie Shepherd. Allardyce left Bolton just before the end of last season following a reported bust up with chairman Phil Gartside and since then the Trotters have slipped down the Premiership and are odds on to be relegated. 'Big Sam' was unhappy with the lack of money made available to him in the January transfer window before he left and felt he was unable to take the club any further with limited funds. Reports now claim that Allardyce, who was sacked by Newcastle after just five months earlier in the season, is lining up a sensational return to the Reebok with the financial backing of former Magpies chairman Shepherd. Shepherd was the man who appointted Allardyce before he was replaced by current Newcastle owner Mike Ashley, and according to the grapevine the duo want to make a sensational return to football by ousting Gartside. http://www.clubcall.com/index.jsp?storyID=336503

Asprilla 96
I wish them well, I really do. Some clubs are right for some people and clearly Allardyce and Bolton were a good match. I have no hard feelings, I'm just pleased we have a new owner, a sane chairman, the right manager, a good squad and a bit of self belief back. There's no better revenge than living well as the saying goes.
khay 10
I heard this before all though it was Sam taking over the club and not as manager.

Howay 12496
I would feel sorry for Bolton if this did happen though The fans on their forum were saying how we are deluded and that we wouldn't be in this mess if Allardyce had been given time ffs
Guest alex
The bungs and backhanders potential would be immense. Willie McKay must be hoping it comes off.
toontoasey 0
A match made in heaven, Shepherd would have them 80 million in debt within 3 years.

That would be heaven (especially when he sacked Ferguson for only winning the League, FA Cup and Champions League, but failing to win the League Cup). acrossthepond 901
Wouldn't wish FFS on anyone. Fat Sam on the other hand might well do a job at some Mickey Mouse club, maybe he'll be next Wigan or West Brom manager but he'll never have the mentality for a real club.
