smoggeordie 0
NEWCASTLE United will be without midfielder Emre for up to two weeks after the Turkish midfielder injured his ankle playing for the Magpies reserves on Monday. The 27-year-old scored a fine solo goal before withdrawn at half-time during the second-string's 1-1 draw with Man United at St.James' Park. And, while it had been hoped Emre would return to the squad for Saturday's clash with Reading, boss Kevin Keegan told Newcastle World TV on Friday that he will be without the services of the former Inter ace for at least a fortnight. "Unfortunately Emre has injured his ankle playing for the reserves," explained KK. "He'll be out for about two weeks which is a shame because he could have been in the squad for Reading." hmmmmm

bassplayerjj 0
anyone catch his goal for the reserves on SSN? Keegan did and probably still hopes that Emre can do it here.
Guest alex
He's been about 2 weeks away from fitness for about 6 months. Unless Turkey are playing. Agree with Wacky btw.

He'll have to use all messianic powers then. There is so much wrong with Emre that it needs a dozen wonders to turn him into a decent player. To turn him into a decent player again, because tbh he was excelent for Inter and always plays well for Turkey. Guest alex
Don't think he was excellent for Inter like. He was excellent in a World Cup 6 years ago.
The Mighty Hog 536
He was a squad player at Inter wasn't he? Came off the bench a lot, from what I can remember. Had a canny YouTube compilation though when he signed.
acrossthepond 900
Always tried to support Emre but the time has come to move on I think, he's never fit and doesn't seem to have a role to play here. He's had some flashes but sadly no consistency.
