LeazesMag 0
Also, do you want Souness sacked and the new manager to buy Bellamy back? 39107 that would be telling. Suffice to say I think when Souness grabbed him by the throat, Bellamy should have hit him back with a hard hammer, as should Dwight Yorke when he tried to break his leg in training at Blackburn. And I would like Souness to fall off the tyne bridge, with a heavy brick attached to his bollocks. Edited September 26, 2005 by LeazesMag
shakermaker 0
you are so full of needing others to prove things(eg better camp without bellamy) are you going to provide proof of the throat grabbing incident ???? isn't it strange how you say prove it about the texts to shearer but accept without question the throat grab ? also we'll see who owen's next partner is when the time comes...not so long ago you were screaming that we wouldn't replace bellamy with anyone near as good. LeazesMag 0
you are so full of needing others to prove things(eg better camp without bellamy) There is no way that a team finishes in the top 5 for 3 years and qualifies for the 2nd phase of the champions league with anything other than a good spirit in the dressing room, not to mention all the times we came back from a goal down in league games, and have such a fantastic record in our immediate game after the European ones. For Souness to suggest the team spirit was bad in such circumstances is an insult to a man vastly superior and far more knowledgeable and successful in football than him. Bobby Robson should tell him to shut his mouth until he has matched his team, before he compares anything to it. By uttering such insecure remarks, he is simply showing how desperate he is to pacify supporters for selling a popular player, because he knows deep down he pushed him out for personal and not football reasons. Mind you, his spin and appointment of Terry Mac to woo over those who can't see the obvious, is working in some quarters ........ are you going to provide proof of the throat grabbing incident ???? isn't it strange how you say prove it about the texts to shearer but accept without question the throat grab ? I haven't asked anyone to prove the text is not true, but I suppose you could say I don't believe a word of what Souness and his spin makers say. I have said somewhere though that if it is true, it suggests a very dangerous clique at the club, that a player did such a thing to his team mate and captain, who is not supposed to be doing anything other than playing and captaining the team. The throat grabbing is true though. As is him trying to break his own players leg on the training ground. Disgraceful. also we'll see who owen's next partner is when the time comes...not so long ago you were screaming that we wouldn't replace bellamy with anyone near as good. 39278 We haven't, Owen is Shearers eventual replacement who became available and more needed a year early. There will not be 15m next year to replace Shearer unless we make sales. It was used to buy Owen, now this is just simple common sense and hardly economic genius. Its always been obvious Owen is Shearer's replacement. Same goal threat, same world standing, proven international, massive transfer fee required, complete self belief that they are the best. Its also obvious from Freddie, Souness and everyone who's spoken about it at the club saying Owen IS Shearer's replacement because nobody else could have done it. It was clear the club was putting a shit load of money aside for when the day came we had to get Big Al's replacement with the intention of getting somebody worthy and we certainly have. When the chance to get Owen arose, out came the money that had been kept for Al's replacement. We have not thus far bought Bellamy or Kluivert's replacement and this is where the problem lies. Shearer is near the end of his career and can't play all the time and Owen may get injured. Suddenly we could be looking at Shola and Chopra, unless Dyer and Luque happen to be fit and scoring well as a striker. For me we still lack one striker if Luque and Dyer prove capable there, if they don't then we lack two. Brilliant. But, next year, he needs a partner. Shame Bellamy isn't here because they would have been fantastic, every bit as good as Bellamy would have been with Shearer in his prime. But since we won't, i hope they are looking to bring in at least another top class striker because Shearer is going soon and Shola+Chopra won't be good enough. Guest Sima
I think Ashton and Owen (should he stay longer than rumoured) would make an excellent partnership. Wouldn't pay nowhere near what Wigan were offering for him though.
