khay 10
Geremi Named In Best Easter XI Geremi's impressive display in Newcastle United's 2-0 home win over Fulham earned him a place in the Team of the Week in The Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Barclays Premier League. The Cameroon international posted a season's-best 36 points as manager Kevin Keegan earned his first win since returning to St James' Park, assisting in both goals scored by Mark Viduka and Michael Owen. Geremi also produced 15 passes, two dribbles and eight crosses as he moved 37 places to 184th in the Index with 174 points. The Magpies, six points clear of the relegation zone, have one player in the top 100 - defender Steven Taylor is 92nd with 262 points. Analysis of all Premier League games is taking place throughout the season and the players in the Actim Index Team of the Week are: Carlo Cudicini Andre Bikey Jonathan Woodgate Wes Brown John Terry Cristiano Ronaldo Joe Cole David Bentley Geremi Didier Drogba Roque Santa Cruz The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player's contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, assists, clean sheets, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards. sammynb 3640
with marks deducted for red and yellow cards. Obviously it doesn't matter if your other 15 passes don't make it to the recipient or if your set pieces can't clear the first man. But if you get a yellow card* then obviously your a worse player than the next guy! * Obviously Mascherano is exempt from this as he is a fucking idiot and got what he deserved. LeazesMag 0
Well, as he had two assists on Saturday, the london journos will be making a case for him to be our player of the season

David Kelly 1280
Personally I thought he was canny enough on Saturday. Made a few decent passes other than the assists for the goals. His corners in the first half were good but they were piss poor in the second. I think like all of the rest of them, low confidence is meaning he's lacking in consistancy throughout the games, he'll do something good and then something shit. But if we start picking up a few good results I think he could do quite well.
Happy Face 29
Taylor being our best player in there says it all. ...and says even more about the faith Allardyce put in those things.
Guest BigThompers
Number of passes, dribbles, crosses, etc? Much rather have one effective pass, cross or dribble than 10 ineffective ones counted by actim tbf. Edited March 26, 2008 by BigThompers

Kid Dynamite 7318
. . . And nothing else. He was playing on the right of a midfield 3 and spent most of the time playing behind Beye! He cant make an overlapping run to save his life, his aging bones would need an oxygen mask to recuperate!
sammynb 3640
As an aside, the U14 team I coach played a team from Georges Hall who are coached by ex-Chelsea player Eddie McCreadie a couple of weeks ago. And in his team are three African player, great skill and pace and about 6" taller than anyone else on the park. Their ID cards all have then listed with a birthday of 01/01/1994!
