Aye, meant to say the best thing could be that the players will be a little "proud" of how they fought back. I mean that in the context of their confidence levels and how shit we are generally btw.

I was also desperate because of that that they didn't win it late on.

I didnt think we did that bad. The 1st half was tight. Only a blunder by Faye (not sure why Taylor was getting stick earlier in this thread instead of Faye today) was the major difference.

Second half was better and we deserved a goal. A good battling performance. Thats what we need right now.

As Happy Face said earlier the crowd are just as bad as the team when it comes to capitulating.

Disclaimer: I meant people on here. the couple of thousand that went down there on a work night have my utmost respect.

Taking Martins off killed our momentum. I wonder if that was Keegan's idea? A point away from home is welcome at this stage in the season. I wonder if this si an example of a more cautious Kk? A bit older and a bit wiser? The KK of old might have thrown caution to the wind and we might have conceded another late goal.

The Zog was hardly a defensive sub, but I'm trying to make sense of the sub, or at least rationalise it.

Perhaps the idea was for the midfield 3 to shut up (they'd hardly been great for most of the game) and leave the Zog to link up and make any attacking runs?

Anyway, as much as I would have liked the 3 pts, coming away with 1 against a team wanting to avoid the same relegation fight as us is welcome. The improved 2nd half will rebuild some confidence I've no doubt.

Did they boo when Martins was taken off? I can sort of understand them if they did and I am far from having a go at them, but I think the short fuse of people (in this thread as well) is really annoying.

Bollocks did taking Martins off kill the momentum. It was already gone. N'Zogbia did just as much as Martins would have when he came on.

I think we were booing the decision to take him off.

I'll settle for a point. Three points against Fulham is still a must though and I'm not sure it will happen.

I think we'll murder Fulham. :(

I was just about to say.

Fulham need to win games so they'll leave far more space at the back than the likes of Bolton & Boro did.

Taking Martins off was a disgrace!

Wasnt happy tbh, never have been since KK has arrived.

I can understand people not being happy. But a disgrace? Get a grip ffs. Martins had a good game, but the decision to keep a Owen after he scored and Viduka who normally is better at keeping possession to bring on another (attacking) midfielder for a striker was not really a decision without any sense, especially keeping Blackburn in mind...

Pretty obvious that he wanted to shore up the defence and not lose the game. Didnt want another Blackburn on our hands. Good tactical decision in the end imo.

I would of taken Viduka off. Martins was trying at least the Duke was doing fuck all.

This weekend we've got Fulham at home

Bolton away to Man U

Mackems Away to Villa

Reading v Birmingham

However the last game goes, I reckon we'll be 7 points clear of danger.

Ideally a Reading win without looking at me calculatah.

I disagree. Where Martins worked well with Owen and Viduka, The Zog was dangerous on his own.

As an aside, did anyone else notice Owen coming quite deep to collect the ball? Something I would have thought Viduka might have done (then again, he wouldn't have been in position for the flick on). My point is that if Owen hadn't have done it no-one else would have? Martins was going all out (but then he's trying to play into favour) whereas Owen might have seen the bigger picture (if one of us doesn't go back we'll all get fuck all). Granted Owen has been favoured mroe so is maybe not under the 'need to impress the boss' fear Martins is. Having said that, Owen is struggling himself at the minute so he has a much to prove as anyone.

That last bit is not a statement per ce, more an observation with some mixed thoughts.......
