Happy Face 29
Comments from Michael Owen as reported by The Times: "My main priority is to get more points for Newcastle and that’s what I’m concentrating on. “In the dressing-room afterwards, it was the best I have felt for a long time. "Tuesday was the first day off when I could go home and enjoy myself, smile and laugh with the kids and play with them without thinking about the stresses and strains of the football. “It’s not that we’re pleased we have drawn with Birmingham. We are bigger and better than to be pleased with drawing at Birmingham. "But when you think about the manner of what we did and what has happened over the last few weeks, you have to be pleased. "We have shown character, we’ve taken a positive point against a team below us and hopefully we’ll take more on Saturday. “We have got to put the relegation thing to bed as soon as possible. The plan is to finish the season and have everyone wondering what all that worry was about. "Hopefully, we can get right out of the wrong end of the table as soon as possible and win a good few games before the end of the season. "We have a game on Saturday that can help us do that. We could then look back at a week when we’ve taken four points from teams below us and kick on from there. “The moment you say the club have not offered you a contract, it is the club snubbing you and vice versa, but it’s not like that. "The club have not offered me a new contract and I have not knocked on the door and asked for one. There are more pressing things.” As captain, I don't mind hearing stuff like this from Owen, especially when he's ignoring contract speculation rather than slagging the club off for dawdling. Taylor sees himself as defacto Geordie boy peoples captain.
Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Im with HF on this one like, if I see one more soundbite from Taylor Im going to have it made into a brick and lob it through his front fucking window. Me too. Less media shit, less contract whining, more application, son. Look how Lescott and Wheater have progressed from U21 level, yet Taylor has stood still, or gone backwards if anything. Sima 0
STEVEN TAYLOR admits Newcastle’s shocking season has left him too embarrassed to look at the table. The Toon are hovering just four points above the Premier League drop zone. And they take on fellow strugglers Fulham at St James’ Park tomorrow — desperate to land Kevin Keegan’s first league win in nine attempts and relieve the pressure on Tyneside. Centre-back Taylor, 22, is horrified at how things have panned out this season. But he said: “Hopefully the performance at Birmingham will have given the fans a lot of heart because I think we showed how desperate we are to get things right. “We cannot hide any longer, we had to come out and grab the game which I think we did. “It was just a shame we couldn’t get on the end of another chance. “That would have made it three points which would have sent the best fans in the world home a lot happier. We haven't played well enough “It is tough being down the bottom end of the table and none of us finds it acceptable. “There are no excuses and I am not going to suggest anything other than we deserve to be where we are in the table. "I don’t think we have had an awful lot of luck on our side but that hasn’t been the reason for our poor results. “It has been collectively the fact that we haven’t played well enough, as simple as that. “I hate to see where we are in the table. In fact, I can’t even look at a league table, it is that embarrassing. “As one of them myself, the last thing I want to do is send the Geordies home unhappy. “We have to turn it around. The boss has done it before, it will take time — but he will do it again.” Doesn't know when to quit tbh Edited March 21, 2008 by Sima
Tooj 17
Then going by that logic his performances should also have left him too embarrassed to watch MOTD and that as well.

ewerk 32517
Can this kid not just shut the fuck up.... Fans can give us a boost - Taylor Newcastle defender Steven Taylor has backed the supporters to create an atmosphere at St James' Park ahead of Saturday's visit of Fulham. Monday's draw at Birmingham was helped by a vocal travelling support and Taylor believes the fans can be a big part of their bid to avoid relegation. He told BBC Radio Newcastle: "We have to make St James' Park intimidating. "The main thing for us is how our fans are on the day. I don't think we have ever needed them more than we do now." As a regular in the stands at St James' Park as a boy, Taylor is fully aware what the club means to the area and has urged fans to continue to back the team. "At Birmingham the big part was the fans. It shows how much passion there is here, they never stopped singing," he added. "Even when we're getting beaten, we need them behind us." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ted/7304490.stm Tosser. It was cringeworthy watching him trying to get the crowd going just before kick off. Tit.

Take a look Steven, take a long fookin hard look at the table because that might finally wake you up to just how shite you've been this season. As one of them myself, the last thing I want to do is send the Geordies home unhappy. fuck right fucking fuckity fuck fuck off. We have to turn it around. The boss has done it before, it will take time — but he will do it again. How much more can this cunt kiss arse?

acrossthepond 944
His gob never stops running. I feel like if he spent more time training and learning some positioning and marking he wouldn't keep getting caught out, causing our defence problems which inevitably lead to conceding goals, which make us lose games, which make us slide down the table until he's too embarassed to look. You reading this, Geordie boy Tayls? He started promising but his ego (no doubt egged on by daddy dear) has got the better of him now, to the point where he thinks he no longer has to work for it. I'm sure he has to keep a broom at hand to beat back Arsenal and Chelsea agents from his front door.
luckyluke 2
The reason people are so fascinated by Eric Cantona is not only because he was a brilliant footballer, but because he said so little there's a lot of mystique there, other people can talk too much. Cantona being a raving nutjob with a penchant for Kung Fu had something to do with also I reckon.

Norbert Colon 0
It was classic against brum when he was geeing the crowd up then when the game started his first two contributions to the game were headers out of the box straight to their attackers so they could fire pot shots at us - i never got much defensive coaching whilst playing on the left wing but one thing always stuck in my mind that if you are attempting to clear the box using your head then go sideways - well that was youth football , it must be different at a higher level?? Sima 0
I don't know what was more cringeworty. His lap of honour and giving his shirt to someone in the East Stand (I would have gave it back to him tbh) or his utterly spacker jump for joy, fists clenched leap at the final whistle. Fuck off Steven, we're not buying it.
