pertoon 0
Just seen on SSN the Metropolitan Police chief calling for clubs to pay ALL the costofpolicing games. Apparently at the moment clubs pay the cost of Police INSIDE the ground but the bill for any outside the ground, at railway stations etc is picked up by the taxpayer i.e. you and me. The police view is that it is unfair for the taxpayer the majority of whom never go to a football game to pay for what is essentially a private event. At the moment the all the Premier league clubs put together are paying around 600 million pounds per season which is around 40% of the total cost. Inevitably any increase in the cost to the clubs would have to be passed on in higher ticket prices quite how much this would be per person they did not say but it doesnt take a rocket scientist to work out this would be quite a sum. The end result of this would be a fall off in the numbers attending games with th possibillity that many smaller clubs could go to the wall. so what do you think? Sima 0
They can fuck off if they think they are putting the ticket prices up again. It would be by at least a fiver tbh
NJS 4454
It depends - would this apply to all other sports, all other demos and all other pubic events eg Notting Hill carnival. If its not universal then fuck off. Also if the clubs were paying for it they should have a say in numbers deployed - I'd expect a small bill when we play Fulham etc.
Guest alex
The extra TV should cover this. It won't do, obviously.
snakehips 0
When Men Against CSA Payments have a march in London, do they pay for the policing? No. When Countryside Alliance have a march in London, do they pay for the policing? No When Socialist Worker organises an anti Poll Tax riot, do they pay for the policing? No. Policing outside football grounds should be paid by the exchequer and policing inside the grounds should be paid by the clubs i.e. things to remain the same. themags 0
I think with 50,000 people or whatever all been in one place, I believe the Police have a responsibility to be there.

pertoon 0
They can fuck off if they think they are putting the ticket prices up again. It would be by at least a fiver tbh i did some rather basic calculations and i reckon it would mean ticket prices WOULD AT LEAST DOUBLE.
