If he was below 5th are you sure he wasnt in 1st I doubt they could knock it into reverse, not at that speed, they might have tried to but like you say it would have made a large grinding noise. Â Â EDIT: Anyone hear about how they are thinking of making it two practical tests instead of just one, because too many young people are passing and are crashing. One of my teachers was talking about it today. Edited May 9, 2008 by bawan

Meenzer 15807
I reckon all drivers should be re-tested every 5 or 10 years. Not at quite such stringent standards as the initial test, so that you don't spend half your life hunched over the Highway Code, but enough to identify acquired bad habits and general mongishness that may have slipped through the net at first. Toonraider 0
I havent crashed on an official lesson, but my dad gave me his car years ago (vauxhall chevette ) Hubby got it sprayed up and looking fine, he bought it home and told me we'd go out in it later. Thing is I couldnt wait. I hadnt driven much, but just had to have a go in it, so I stuck the L's on it and my neighbour sat next to me and off I went. Got down the bottom of the road, where I needed to turn round but for some reason I didnt turn the wheel enough and literally mounted the pavement and crashed the front left wing and wheel into the wall Told other half I'd had a little bump, he was not impressed when he saw it, he had to pull the wing out from under the wheel
